Indiana Jones + Lego

Raiders of the Lost Ark is my favourite movie of all time. I have watched it more times than I can count and I will continue to watch it more times than I can count.

Recently Lego released a few sets based on the series, one of which is the famous opening sequence from Raiders. It has everything. Tarantulas? Check. Dead explorer? Check. Bottomless pit? Check. Chachapoyan Fertility Idol whose platform lowers and destroys an ancient temple after a well-meaning archaeologist takes said idol? Check. Giant rolling ball? Also check.

I received the set this past Christmas and built it almost immediately and thought it'd be fun to try and re-create some scenes and photograph them. Originally I had about 30 shots that I was going to try. I admit this was pretty ambitious, not to mention the fact that the set itself plus Lego mini figures don't exactly have the same proportions as the movie set and actual humans, so I settled for a little less than half of that.

I left out Satipo's death because, well, it was near impossible to get the right angle without dismantling half of the set and I also like to keep things family friendly around here.
